Frequently asked Questions My Pirate has a touch of scurvy, a doctors appointment or will be missing camp for some other reason, what do I do? Please inform us if your pirate will be missing camp at the earliest possible time. Ideally, please bring a note to camp monday so we can mark our roll sheets accordingly. It makes it much easier to take roll and begin the day. Unfortunately, we cannot refund or pro-rate days at camp missed. I have a son/daughter who wants to play pirates with his siblings? Do you have any Bandannas, T-Shirts, Eye-Patches, or earrings for sale? Yes, this year we will be selling surplus pirate gear, t shirts, sweatshirts and more. We'll add more information soon. Is Fencing it safe? yes. Really? Fencing is actually one of the safest sports around. At pirates camp, we teach the pirates in small groups, lead by the varsity fencing coaches. At least one of the Captains in every group is on the Stanford Fencing team. Instruction is kept approachable and simple. Our safety record reflects our dedication to safety. Will the pirates actually use fencing equipment, or just learn the basics? From the first time pirates learn fencing, they will put on equipment and fence. Our captains have years of experience with fencing instruction and will promise to keep things safe and enjoyable. Pirates will be instructed in the use of the Foil, one of the three weapons used in fencing. Page: 1 2 3 |
